Detailed Introduction of Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acids (PGE, E475)
Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acids (PGE), also known as E475, is a non-ionic emulsifier commonly used in food and industrial applications. It is derived from polyglycerol and edible fatty acids, offering excellent emulsification, dispersion, and stabilization properties in various formulations.
Raw Materials:
Polyglycerol (Produced by polymerizing glycerol)
Fatty acids (Derived from vegetable oils such as palm oil, soybean oil, or coconut oil)
Production Process:
Esterification of polyglycerol and fatty acids under controlled conditions.
Purification and standardization to meet food-grade safety regulations.
Final product is available in powder, paste, or liquid form for various applications.
Improves dough stability – Enhances dough elasticity and consistency.
Enhances aeration – Used in cakes and whipped creams to create a light and fluffy texture.
Prevents oil separation – Maintains homogeneous emulsions in fillings and coatings.
Stabilizes emulsions – Ensures even fat dispersion in dairy products.
Enhances texture – Improves creaminess and mouthfeel in ice creams, creamers, and yogurt.
Prevents ingredient separation – Used in coffee creamers, soft drinks, and nutritional beverages.
Improves stability – Helps maintain uniformity in plant-based milk and protein drinks.
Acts as a skin-friendly emulsifier in lotions, creams, and shampoos.
Provides smooth consistency in beauty and skincare formulations.
Used in pharmaceutical emulsions and suspensions.
Serves as a lubricant and dispersant in industrial applications.
✅ Excellent Emulsification – Ensures uniform fat dispersion in food and beverage formulations.
✅ Improves Product Stability – Prevents oil-water separation and maintains smooth textures.
✅ Safe & Food-Grade – Complies with E475, FDA, and global food safety standards.
✅ Versatile Applications – Suitable for baking, dairy, beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
✅ Available in Different Forms – Customizable as powder, paste, or liquid based on application needs.

DESCRIPTION
PGE (Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acids), also known as food additive E475, is widely applied in bakery products, oils, fats and plastics. The emulsifiers are produced by esterification of polyglycerols with vegetable-based fatty acids. The type of fatty acids and polyglycerol and the degree of esterification determine the functionality of each product in the range.
